TRAINING

TRAINING: Training essentially means an act or process. In Literacy campaign, training plays a crucial role in learning process and also in motivating people to teach the learners. The State Resource Centre is deeply involved in developing a better understanding on how and what can be the contributions of a better training in building the capacity of the field functionaries. It has strived to develop the understanding on contributions of effective training in the literacy and development field. Training has lead to work for developing skills of the trainees, promoting positive attitudinal changes and analytical thinking. A variety of training programmes have been initiated in this regard.


The trainings in SRC have been one of the important academic and technical supports that the organization has extended in the literacy programmes. In this long span of years the SRC has supported a variety of literacy programmes. The literacy programme have been many changes in the last two decades, with change in the approach of literacy programmes the delivery models of support from SRC also changed.


Training Pattern: The SRC took up the trainings of these functionaries throughout the State of Assam. SRC Assam also provided the extension support to the neighboring state of Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh. The trainings taken up for them were specially designed with respect to their roles and responsibilities in the programme. The training of SRC was limited and so it was necessary that the training were decentralized and this required SRC training team to go down to the districts and impart training.


Organization of Training: The respective district organizes the trainings. SRC bear the responsibility of technical and academic support in these trainings. Training methodology used by SRC tries to encompass the different ways of training to make it more effective. Training conducted by SRC includes methods such as participatory, interaction, question answer, group discussion, role play, and songs open discussion, filed visit, case study etc. The aim is to make the functionaries gain confidence to do their job.

Training Aids and Materials: The training materials were specially designed for each level of training and specific materials were developed whenever there was a special training required for field activists. The training materials were simplified and used for the lower levels of trainings. Effort was to have rich and variety of materials, which will serve as reference material for future.


SRC used Computer, Laptop, LCD, Hand outs, Video visuals, Games etc in the training as training aids. So far SRC had provided numbers of training to the literacy activists, stakeholders. To make the training more effective and successful SRC has generated number of potential trainers in state, district even in GP level. The services offered by the trainee are appreciable.




Training on Blind literacy:

State Resource Centre Assam has organized a two days training programme for the instructors of blind literacy was in collaboration with Blind High School, Basistha, Guwahati on 23rd and 24th of July 2015 in the school premises. The objective of the training was to promote literacy to the adult blind non literate. The 12 Instructor from 6 districts of SBM namely Dhemaji, Darrang, Sonitpur, Morigaon, Bongaigaon and Kokrajhar were attended the training. The SRC Resource Persons, VTs and Preraks were also participated the training. In the training, decision has been taken that the blind literacy programe will initially start in 6 districts of Assam in 7 centres with a target of educating 20 blind adult learners.


PMSBY:

The National Literacy Mission Authority, Govt of india has recently launched three social programme namely: Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Atal Pension Yojana in order to move towards creating a universal social security system, targeted especially for the poor and under privileged.
For the empowerment of the neo literates, as a part of Financial Literacy undertaken by National Literacy Mission Authority it has proposed to promote the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana which is beneficial to our target groups,
To fulfill the target, The National Literacy Mission Authority has assigned to all SRCs to promote PMSBY for availing the benefit of the Suraksha Bima Yojana by facilitating in filling up the consent cum declaration forms of the eligible persons. Each SRCs has targeted to enrolling at least 10,000 people from the villages and also the district level
As per guidelines, SRC Assam has proposed to organized campaign on 23rd August 2015 in all districts of SBM to enroll the account opening. So far SRC Assam has opened 9824 a/c till 31st August 2015. no of PMSBY ac under SBM district.



Online Monitoring Module of SBM Portal

A two days training on online Monitoring Module of SBM Portal of Saakshar Bharat was organized by the State Resource Centre Assam in collaboration with Zilla Lok Siksha Samiti Sonitpur on 6-7th January, 2015. The District Coordinator of 8 SBM District and RPs of SRC Assam participated in the said programme..
