Awareness programme on PMSBY
The State Resource Centre Assam took the initiative of awareness and distribution of account opening forms regarding the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMBSY). Members of SRC Assam namely Mr. Nirmal Chandra Deka,
Programme Officer, SRC Assam, Mr. Ghanashyam Saikia, Mrs. Anuradha Baruah and Miss. Pratmaja Bhattacharyya attended and conducted the activity at the Kamakhya Ram Barua Girls College. The function saw active participation from the college students and professors.
The function commenced by 12.30 pm at the College Auditorium premises.
Dr. Dhiren Shrutikar, Proff. History Department, K.R.B College, hosted the programme and gave the SRC members a warm welcome. He took to the stage and explained to the students about the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana scheme and its various benefits and urged for the student’s active participation.
After the warm welcome speech and introductory session, Mrs. Anuradha Baruah, Programme Officer, SRC Assam, gave the whole crowd an introduction and explained on the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana in jist.
After the informative speech, the form fill up session took place under the direction of Miss. Pratmaja Bhattacharyya, SRC Assam. She explained on the form fill-up process and catered to the various queries and extended help to the students in filling up their forms.
Mr. Ghanashyam Saikia, SRC Assam took to the technical sphere. He conducted the video footaging of the whole event in order to capture the glorious moments.
The students participated actively and the response was more than expected. Positive comments poured in from the students appreciating the scheme, resulting in opening of 100 accounts.
The account opening session was followed by the concluding speech, forwarded by Mr. Nirmal Chandra Deka, Programme Officer, SRC Assam wherein he stressed the need for Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and concluded his speech with the vote of thanks
Awareness programme on PMSBY
1. NIOS Assessment Test on 23rd August, 2015
The 11th no of NIOS Assessment was held on 23rd August, 2015 in all 8 districts of SBM under SRC Guwahat. The target in this Assessment was 2,75,000. Out of total target, 2,16,027 no of learners registered and 1,94,385 no of learners appeared in all districts of SBM. The total no of male and female in this particular test were 49,620 and 1,21,491 respectively.
The highest no of learners was appeared in Sonitpur district: 88,711 out of which 25,554 male and 63,157 female. Due to the grim condition of flood, there are many learners who are not able to appear in this assessment.
2. International Literacy Day
The international literacy day was celebrated by State Resource Centre Assam in collaboration with Darrang Zilla Lok Siksha Samiti along with all over the world at Mangaldai Natya Mandir, Darrang. The Day was celebrated with two days colourful programme on 7-8 Septemabr 2015. The theme of this year International Literacy Day is “Literacy for Development”

In connection with the day, a writing competition among the neo literate of SBM programme was held at Mangaldoi Govt higher Secondary School, Darrang Mrs Mahsina Khatun, President, Darrang Lok Siksha Samiti inaugurated the competition. After that Mrs. Anuradha Baruah, Programme Coordinator, SRC Assam gave a brief description about the competition. As a Judge of the competition, Mr Bhusan Saharia, Subject Teacher, Duni Higher Secondary School, Darrang, Dr. Mohini Goswami, Principal, B.Ed College, Darrang and Pabitra Kr. Sarma, Renowned Writer was present in the competition. As a guest Mr. Ranjit Kalita, ACS, CEO, Darrang Zilla Lok Siskha Samiti and Mr. Banamali Sarma, DPM, Darrang, attended the programme. The participants were from all the districts of SBM.
8th Septembar 2015.
The day was started with the flag hoisting of SBM Flag by Dr. Ganeswar Saharia, Chairman, SRC Assam. Addressing to the public, he told about the significance of International Literacy Day and its importance of Present day society. Then, the programme was continue with a literacy procession. The procession was flag off by Shri Suman Chakrabarty, Additional Superintend of Police, Darrang. Neo literates, VTs, Preraks, RPs of all SBM district, SRC Staff and also other people of different field were took part in the procession.
The open function was started after the participants of the possession reached back to Natya Mandir and take their respective seat. More than 700 people participated in the programme. After that the programme was started with a literacy song, sung by Utpal Bezbaruah, a renowned artist. The International literacy day was formally inaugurated with the lighting of lamp by 5 no of neoliterate coming from different district of SBM.The welcome address was given by Ranjit Kalita, ACS, CEO, Zilla Lok Siksha Samiti Darrang. The major activity of the day was that SRC Assam has been conferred the literacy award for the year of 2015 to the noted literacy activist and a reknown artist Lt. Dimbeswar Das from Dhemaji and Mr. Tanka Konwar, literacy activist an writer from Karbi Anglong District for their contribution in the adult literacy during last two decade. SRC Assam also felicited the best Preraks and best VTs for their effort for the promotion of SBM in their areas. In the event, SRC Assam has inaugurated three no of books ‘Chithi’ (Assamese and Karbi Language) and Koishokalar Siksha. The highlight of day was release the documentary on success stories of SBM ‘Ashar Ekhoj’ which was released by Jayanta Das, a renowned actor. In the day long programme, the distinguished person who had participated in the celebration:

Innovative Activities
The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt of India have already been started Saakshar Bharat Mission through National Literacy Mission Authority covering the 12 districts having low female literacy rate of 50% or below of it as per2001 census. The Saakshar Bharat Programme was launched on 8th September, 2009 and is still continued till date. The Mission has been implemented through 3 approached namely: 1. Volunteer based campaign approach 2. Resident Instructor based approach 3. Resident camp based approach under basic literacy component to impart literacy to the adult non literacy people of 15 + age group.
In this connection, SRC Assam has taken some innovative projects like ICT Primer development of ICT Primer, Braily Primer, documentary etc to make fully literate the society.
In addition to that SRC Assam has proposed to undertake a programe namely Blind Literacy for the physically challenge non literate people specially for the blind non literate people 15+ age group. The aim and objective of the programme is to promote literacy to the adult blind non literate people. Initially, SRC Assam has undertake 6 district out of 12 district of SBM namely Dhemaji, Darrang, Sonitpur, Morigaon, Bongaigaon and Kokrajhar with target of 100 blind non literate people to literate.

organized a capacity building training to the SRC Faculty members, RPs and
District/Block Coordinators on 5th January 2015 hold at Monsoon
Palace from 10:30 AM. At first a brief felicitation ceremony were taken where Tarun Deka, Assam Archive and
Miss Deepshikha Pathak, OKD
Institute of Social Science and Development were welcomed with a Fulam Gamosa.
After self introduction of the guest
and participants Mr. N.C. Deka, Programme
Coordinator, SRC Assam explained about the aims and objectives of the training.
Thereafter, Mr. Tarun
Deka, Archive, Assam delivered lecture on
documentation. He described about Assam Archive and its activities running
since 1974. There is preserve 7 lakh of data in the
Archive till today in scientific manner. According to him a proper file system is
essential for convenient identification, sorting, storage and retrieval of
paper of transaction of business. Files are opened for the performance of a
particular function of an organization. In Archive, there is a Special Library
that is separate like other libraries like General and Educational. The types
of data keep in the archive like:
R Government Reports R Historical Books R Civil List R History Services
He also described about several filing
systems/types of records keeping via part file, file register, file movement,
filing system under desk pattern.

steps of Reporting: R Drafting R Formatting R Submitting R Review RApproval etc

Celebration of International Literacy Day 2014
The State Resource Centre (SRC) Assam has celebrated the International Literacy Day along with the rest of the world on September
8. The Slogan of this year International Literacy Day is “Literacy and sustainable development”. SRC Assam celebrated the event with a two day colourful
programme on September 7-8, 2014 in collaboration with Bongaigaon Zila Lok Siksha Samiti at the conference hall of district library, Bongaigaon. In connection
with the Day, a drawing competition was organized amongst students on September 7 followed by an interactive session with the literacy activists.
On September 8, an open meeting was organized. More than 600 literacy activists were participated in the meeting throughout Assam. A digital primer
in Assamese was launched by Nishita Goswami, a noted Assamese film actress and also a book namely “Pelonia Samagrir Punor Byobohar” (Reusing the waste
materials) was released in this meeting by Dwijendra Mohan Das, a noted journalist. In the programme, best literacy award 2014 was conferred on Madhuri
Kalita Choudhury and Prakash Rabha for their outstanding contribution in the field of literacy of last one decade.
